Survivor's cousin in 30-06
« on: January 13, 2007, 10:55:06 AM »
Enough talk!  I made my deposit and special ordered a Handi.  I've probably squeeked one of the last rifles out of our Walmart.  Just in time.  I did all of the homework and recon w/ your help these last couple of weeks and decided to pull the trigger on it today.  Awesome!  I decided on the Synthetic Handi in 30-06.  I'll put the Choate Varmint stock/ or Survivor on it when I get it.  I'll try one of the recommended methods of "bedding" that forend and try my hand with Raynors trigger project.  I hope to see it lose a little weight in the stock conversion too.  Maybe not, however, I felt that the 30-06 barrel would be a little lighter than the 308 bull.  After I put a Banner and a limbsaver on it the lighter barrel and stock aught to keep it close to 7# or less I hope.  Should arrive by next weekend.  Can't wait. ;D
