Welcome to GBO rotor32.That means you would have two barrels that fit youre frame, and could swich between the two.You can get more than one barrel fitted at a time also.

Welcome aboard rotor32, you keep your existing barrel home, send in your reciever and the factory fits a new barrel to your reciever and sends it back to you. From then on you can easily and quickley switch back and forth from one barrel to the other in less than a minute with just a philips screwdriver on one forearm screw. In essense two completely different calibers on one reciever(frame), in essence 2 different guns....<><.... :)

It's a great place with great people Chris, they are always ready to offer an opinion ( ;D) or even help with the facts if neccessary. So pull up a stump and get warm by the fire, there is always room for one more....<><.... ;)

Chris

I have one of my frames that i can go from 223 to 270 to 45/70 to 20ga. with just a twist of a wing nut , another frame will go from 218 Bee to 243 to 12ga. , depends on what i feel like shooting . also have some complete rifles that i do not switch barrels on .

I'm reading this with some interest.  I've been considering a Handi for a few weeks, now.  The rifles are cheap enough, but about what does it cost to set it up for a new barrel?  Can you buy/sell barrels aftermarket like for the T/C's, or are the reciever specific?

Take a look at the NEF Classifieds and then read the barrel fitting info in the FAQs and Help sticky, they aren't one size fits all like the TC, but having multiple frames usually, but not always, a used barrel will work for ya, one way or another. ;) I have 27 complete rifles, at least a third of them have been bought from parts and put together myself.

New barrels fitted by the factory will cost $15 fitting and $10 return shipping, plus the barrel cost. There are some restrictions on fitting which can be seen at their web site.
