Price check Buff Classic
« on: March 05, 2007, 08:31:12 AM »
I have been looking at the Buffalo Classic and wonder what is the price out there?  I beleve these are safe for +p loadings?  I was thinking of also using it for black powder cartridge shooting.

They cost $449.00CDN plus taxes and shipping in Canada($0.85US=$1.00CDN)

They say that the Handi is good for trapdoor and lever gun loads. Not sure about Ruger levels.

A new BC will cost $325 to $350, the hard part will be finding one!! RR had 15 of em 3 weeks ago, they're out now. :'(

The BC uses the same SB2 frame as the .500 S&W Handi which has a SAAMI MAP of 60kpsi which is 10kpsi over Ruger data. How long the underlug would last at Ruger levels is another issue, but +P loads are levergun levels, so they wouldn't be an issue, H&R will tell you to shoot levergun loads in it. Both Buffalo Bore and Garrett ammo are safe in the NEF Handirifle as stated on their sites, you'll find that Garrett doesn't list the NEF in their heavier loads, that's because the Handi and BC .45-70s have short throats in general and you won't be able to load em.

I gave $379.00 in St. Louis for a BC 3 weeks ago. A little over what I wanted to pay, but a BC in hand is worth more to me than being on a list at Wally World. :)

Sportsmans Warehouse here in Vancouver had one last week, and they usually do have one in stock, $349.99, same price at all their stores.
