H&R pump shotgun in .410
« on: January 28, 2008, 05:21:52 PM »
Many years ago when I was a kid. A friend of mine hunted with an H&R pump .410 shotgun. For the life of me I can not remember the model of that gun. Do any of you recall what it might be. This would have been back around 1970 or so. Any help on this would be great.

Thanks,
Jim

In the '70s - it, most likely was the Model 402, small frame, hammerless pump.  This model as well as its larger brothers, the Models 400 and 401, were produced between 1959 and 1967 by NOBEL Firearms Corp. for H&R.  I have a Model 400 in 20 ga., well worn but it works like a charm and is smooth.... The one you're thinking of should have looked something like this (with a longer barrel of course.)

32 Magnum,
Thanks for the reply. It looks like that's the model he had. I had never seen that model H&R 410 in a gun shop or even in a classifieds since. So I was wondering if it was just a model that sort of went away or there weren't many made. Funny how those things pop back into your mind. Sorry for not getting back to you right away.
