this may sound like stupid question but do you have to use real feathers on the arrows when you shoot a recurve i am getting a recurve hopefully today and am curious if i need to get feathers for my arrows.

Yes if you shoot off the shelf. Plastic will kick your arrow.

Remember that its all about the arrow not the bow. If you are using arrows that you shot out of your compound, they may not fly well from a recurve or longbow.
