I shoot a Remington 700 MLS in .54 cal. I use is a Parker Production 505 grain conicals and while the cost for using these hunting is not great, shooting at the range is very expensive. This is an excellent hunting bullet with 120 grains of black FFG. I am looking to cast my own but I am having trouble finding a mould with the same characteristics as the big Hydra-Con. I also want to size and lube the conical. I have a Lyman 450 sizer but finding the necessary punches and die (I need a .549 die) has proved hopeless. I cast for several handgun calibers so I have most of the equipment I need. This is important also because most of the good .54 cal bullets are becoming very hard to find. I should point out I am 55 years old and followed Elmer Keith all my life. This is why I do not want to shoot them new fangled trick bullets with bells and whistles on them. There is NO replacement for displacement!
