unbend scope
« on: February 23, 2007, 03:31:41 PM »
buddy brought his scope by tonight and the tube was bent to the right in front of where it comes out of the crosshair adjustments. is it possible to unbend it? or if he needs to buy a new scope any recomendations for 40-70 bucks? he's not an optics snob and won't be hunting in bad weather or real low light situations.

If the scope is still under warranty, contact the mfr and see if they'll replace it, ya never know. A Bushnell Banner  can be had for around $70, great scope, see the Banner thread down the page.

I have an idea. Tell him he can shoot around corners now. Just kidding. Do what Quick said. ;D

If he is thinking of a fixed power I put the 4x32 Pentax Gameskeeper on mine with medium rings and honestly think I could get the low rings I have under it and still clear the hammer. It's shooting so well I just hate to tamper with it. This scope is a little more than the Banner but still under $100. It has a bullet drop compensating recticle, very bright and has taken everything my 45/70 has given it.

Why not just use the bent scope to shoot around corners?
