I'd love to see the brass for this gun, just as a cartridge collector. It sounds basically identical to the .455 Super Mag that Elgin Gates proposed and DW was supposedly planning to produce. Ballistics 250 grain Hornady over 36.5 grains 296 powder = 2015 fps, according to Gates. I can't remember what he used as the basis for that cartridge, he just said it was a "lengthened .45 Colt case", whatever that means, but stretched to 1.61" as I recall. So, if this .460 Super Mag is based on the .45 WinMag like the mentioned article said, then is it a rimless cartridge? Does it need clips to fire? Any info appreciated.
