.300 RSAU Mag. Do you like it?
« on: May 30, 2003, 04:08:46 PM »
I was lucky enough to win a .300 Remington Short Action Ultra Mag. at a banquet this winter. I am having a hard time learning anything about it because its so new. Can anyone tell me if they have one and how it shoots. What grain bullets do you like? Is it flat shooting? Anything else would be helpful. Thanks.

300 SAUM
« Reply #2 on: June 01, 2003, 06:08:55 PM »
I have a Remington Model 7 300 SAUM.  It's a great little rifle...  Kicks pretty good....  But not "uncontrolable".  I shoot 180 grain Nosler Partition, Speer Mag-Tip, and the new Speer Deep-Shok bullets in it.  H414 is "my" rifles favorite powder.  Each rifle likes different powder/bullet combinations.  With H414, all the bullets I mentioned shoot well.  Not a tack driver, but adequate for big game.
