Uncle Bud's Bulls Bag

Anybody using the Bulls Bag while shooting for accuracy?  I have the bench model and am wanting to fill it with something lighter than sand.  It weighs 40 pounds with sand.  I was thinking about kiltty litter.  Anone have any good ideas?

How are you using it for pistol?

I tried one for a while. Never really liked it. A bi-pod works better. As for the red plastic adjustable base they make for it, don't buy one! It's a total POS. Kitty litter will work better.   KN

Bought a bench model probably 10 years ago and I really like it. Two friends each bought one after using mine. I use it to work up all of my loads for silhouette and hunting loads. I have shot some real small groups while using it How about rice?

For shooting bags in my range box, I fill 25 pound lead shot bags with worn out corncob tumbler media. For the bags I leave lay on the bench out back, the cob media will get wet and soggy, so we fill those with the little styro balls needle workers use to fill the dollies and teddy bears they make. You can get a bag of it for cheap, in the crafts section of department stores.

Cowpox, thanks for the idea.  I'll go by hobby lobby and see what they have.  I called the manufactor and they want me to fill the top bags with sand but that would still make it heavy.  I don't want to make two trips to the car or have to use a dolly when I go to the range.

The weight is what these are made for. It's like attaching that amount of weight to the gun itself. If you're not in need of the weight and want a cheap,easily moved rest, cut the legs off of a pair of jeans,sew up one end and fill with whatever you want.
 My bull bag is filled with bird seed and weighs in at around 25lbs. My wife shoots my younguns 300 and 7mm Ultra mags with it's help.
