Can fishing be discussed?
« on: February 09, 2007, 06:22:23 AM »
Ok, OK I know it is a hunting in PA forum, but what about discussing local fishing as well.  The majority of our hunting seasons are closed or closing soon and I personally am starting to amp up for spring fishing.  As it appears we have no moterator to ask I am asking everyone maybe someone will know.

I think you can discuss fishing, as long as you can somehow twist in fishing with say...... a 223 AI.   I go fishing at our clubs pond in the spring. I put a worm on the hook and then I load a 410 shell in my T\C 10" Contender barrel. I wait for those darn pesky Starlings to do a fly-by and I whack 'em with the little 410.  Oh, I usually catch a few trout too....and release 'em so I can get 'em the next time. 'Cause if you don't catch one now 'n then, it gets boring just shootin those english imported birds.

Does that count as fishing?  ;D

Hey.....waite a minute......it says that you are the moderator!!!!  Does that mean you have to get back to yourself before you can answer that question? (Is that like a dog chasing it's tail?)

Get back to me on that when you can please. ;)

Sure. On these state specific forums I usually title them more or less in accordance with the original request to put them up. I think the Alaska one is Life in Alaska or some such. They are merely state specific forums for you folks who live there to discuss those things you have an interest in that are specific to your state.

As to the question address to the Moderator he is BRAND SPANKING new as moderator here. He just noticed we had none since I had to fire our last moderator and ban him from the site. So he volunteered. Before you ask no I do NOT wish to discuss the circumstances of the departure of our last moderator other than to say it's a legal matter and the prosecution side wanted me to take specific actions due to acts done on here by him and I did. That's as much as I'll share. I make no comment regarding and have no information as to his guilt or innocence.

When I can get ahold of myself I will let you know.

P.S. I usually shoot snakes, but starlings sound like fun.

Now if I can just catch my tail.  Hey come here, where did you go, I'm gonna get you...................Honey bring me my medication please.

So change the name to "Pennsylvania Outdoors". I'm not a fisherman, but given the limited posting that's been going on here, I have no problem with fishing or other outdoor topics. Welcome manofthe45!

I drove by the "pond" (it's actually a lake) at the club I belong to yesterday. I was out fox hunting. Actually, I call it "the early morning walk in the woods, with my gun and really expensive electronic predator caller" ...but hey, I wouldn't have it any other way.  Anyway, a few guys were ice fishin....usin mil worms (or is it meal worms....I get confused) and they were yankin those trout out left 'n right.

Actually, I think it was the same 3 trout. They would yank 'em out of one hole, then throw 'em back in another. I dunno, maybe they had a PVC pipe routed under there! ;D  All I know is they were doin better with fish than I was doin with fox!  I did see some early mornin deer movin, hawks (red tail...man, are those beautiful birds) and quiet...lots of quiet.

NO!  Everyone knows ALL FISHERMEN are LIARS.... Conversely not all liars are fishermen...
Hunters and nature lovers never lie..... ;D

Really! wanna hear about the 45 point buck I saw.  Course it was early Ml so I had to let him walk.   Then there is also the couple hundred claimed couger sightings every year.   Need I go on?
Me I would rather read fishin stories than "there is no more deer".  Now that is the biggest lie of all

Of course, then there is that revised Biblical quote that I've been seeing now and then on the web. It goes something like:

Give a man a fish and he will eat for a day. Teach a man to fish and he will spent the entire day on a boat drinking beer!

I kind of like that one....there's no lie at all in that statement!
