Ever used formed plastic for holster?
« on: March 06, 2007, 08:48:28 AM »
I like to experiment.  One of the things we sometimes used to tie flies is the plastic hospitals use to form casts.  You heat it and can shape it to any form, and it hardens when it cools, very hard.  We use it to make body parts on the flies.  I would have to find a supplier, as the scraps we get from the hospitals are just the leftovers, and not big enogh for a holster, but it is fairly easy to work with, lightweight, and would form very well for a holster.  I think it would work very good for pancake type holsters, or for full size holsters with a good lining.
