Hey DD,

Good observation, well Dom did build this one as he has built many for me over the year or so... He's done a great job on my custom or personal request . Dom had taken the pictures at his workshop and email to me.. Mortar should be here tomorrow... He did such a nice job I just had to post this one for all to see... As for the mortar not sure what century its from, I had seen one ebay just recently and I have one in a nano size. I really like the way it look so I approached Dom to see if he could build me one in a golfball size and as you can see he did an awesome job..and here spec the barrel 3 1/4"OD, the bore 1.70" and the powder chamber 3/4 ID X 1" deep... I'll bring this one to your BBQ in 2011..

Hey El, I'm sure you had some snow by now! I used to live about 45 minutes from where you live. I moved to Georgia to get away from the  snow!! By the way nice mortor!! You just keep gettin more and more.

Hey R-dog, Its been awhile, not much snow just a few flurry's... Just wee bit cold the last few days... several years for retirement then I'll make my move out of the big City... Not sure yet in what direction North Or South, but I dont mind the cold weather... Thanks for the complement on the mortar.. Yeah my collection has grown abit...Just happened  not planned at all... Some will stay for along time, other will go after awhile... Its what make this little hobby of investing, creating and spreading to others interesting...Oh yeah I almost  forgot and the sport & history of it make fun also... well catch ya later, Ed

That's a fine looking piece, the fact that you have a matching micro adds to the already massive cool factor.

I had light snow flurries hitting me last Saturday, of course they were gone as soon as they touched anything.

This was in Blackshear, GA. I was on the bike coming home to Waycross from Patterson.

Down this far we seldom get snow, and it's been over 20 years since we had a snow that accumulated in any significant amount, but it does happen.


BTW: I'm working on a way to carry my ¼-scale Napoleon on the bike, has to be done by spring. If I had a GB mortar (my only mortar is a micro), I could just strap it to the luggage rack. But the field carriage presents a challenge. I'm thinking that I should make the cannon mount so that it replaces the backrest, that will let it sit farther forward, and lower.


I wonder if Harley-Davidson sells an officially licensed chrome-plated cannon mount, complete with H-D logo.

With gold flames. Or skulls, yeah, skulls are cool...

Terry, thanks for the compliment on the mortars, I was thinking you can have a nano mortar mounted on the front fender and hook it up to an electrical igniter, all you need is to pack a blank load and fire at deers as attempted to cross the road...

   What's the back end of your bike look like?  Maybe you should put a wheel in each saddle bag and bungee the axle and trail vertically.  Or make some kind of rack that hangs behind the rear tire that would carry axle, barrel and trail vertically and as low as possible.
