Verify? This isnt a court proceeding, who made you 2 the handloader police?it WAS one guy sharing his experience with a load before you 2 chimed in with you tales of DANGER and attacked him over his findings, this isnt a site where children come to get load data,we are adults and if we chose to test a hot load in our firearms on our property then it ies OUR buisness.Ill bet almost every guy who has handloaded for a few years has pushed the envelope and gone over the BOOKS max load a time or two, they arnt doing you guys any harm when they do so mind your own buisness.
If it aint fair chase its FOUL,and illegal in my state!

You have never tested it,how can you prove its dangerous or unstable? There is a lot to learn about reloading that isnt in your book or your cut and paste sermons. You have 0 first hand experience with the load that was being discused, who are you to give the guy so much flack he bows out of the conversation to avoid your negativity? Some of us are willing to go beyond the book and if its dangerous its our personal choice to make NOT YOURS!

The whole point of using pressure-tested load data is to help the reloader develop safe loads.  I've been loading the 7mm Mag for 25 years and have no problem reaching 3,000fps with 160g bullets.  But there is no way I can get close with a 175, regardless of the powder I use.  The published data from reliable and responsible sources shows the same thing.  Sensible reloaders ignore the published data at their own risk.

Several studies have shown that at near maximum pressures an additonal 100fps is often gained at an expense of an additional 10,000PSI or so.  Others have shown that an additional 3.0g powder can increase pressures by a similar amount.  You can, in fact, often see this relationship in between starting an dmaximum laods, although the pressure increase might be a bit less.  No way you can take a top 7mm Mag 7828 load, increase velocity by 300fps, and still have a safe load - regardless of what Mr. Joe says.

Which is why I will NEVER have first hand experience with Mr. Joes overload.

By the way, even Mr. Joe backed off his claims.  Suddenly he claims less than 3000fps instead of 3100fps - and in a longer barrel to boot...

One of the marks of a wise person is they can learn from the experiences of others.  For example, few people need to swallow poison to learn that its dangerous.

I've worked long enough, with enough 7mm Mags, with enough powders and with enough published data that I don't need to try Mr. Joes' overload to know it would be extremely dangerous in my rifle and many if not most or even all others.  If I want to push a 175g bullet to 3100fps in a 7mm it will be a RUM.

In the case of reloading data there is a wealth of pressure tested data published by manufacturers.  The data I cut and pasted from is from such sources.  Feel free to provide your own pressure tested data that supports the claims Mr. Joe and you are making - I'm sure we'd all love to see it.  I won't hold my breath waithing, though, because it doen't exist.

you are talking trash about two differnt Gb members mr expert,if you had taken the time to read the posters name before you started yet another saftey speech you would have relized that jro45 posted the info about a 26" barrel and 2970 fps,of course Im sure you have a lesson stored up for this guy as well so what the heck, let em have it!Thank God you are around to protect us from ourselves.Im going to start working up to Joes load data Ill let you know when my rifle explodes and kills everyone in a 10 mile radius so you can say I TOLD U SO.Your published data is all published with the consideration of LIABILITY,just like factory ammo its tuned down to prevent lawsuits and never comes close to the true limits of the cartridge.I dont need pressure testing data to decide if i like the load, ill check the brass for pressure symptoms just like the guys used to do before the wealth of cut and paste reload police were hired to keep us in check, thanx for your concern but im a big boy and ill take my chances with Joes data.Ill bet you have some"pressure data" that will show my 150 gr nosler going well over 3330 fps is dangerous as well.Ive been using it on varmits for over 10 years and no exploded rifles yet!

Nonya:

Perhaps you should look at the rules of this forum a little closer...You and everyone else can find all the rules here...http://www.graybeardoutdoors.com/gbo/gbo-tos.php

Let me quote the rules about reloading information...
Quote
Purposely posting incorrect, misleading, or hazardous information will result in removal from the GBO website permanently on the first offense.

and...
Quote
    * Load Data, GBO has several forums that may contain load data and information, the use of this data is the sole responsibility of the one using it. NO guarantee is made to the validity, accuracy, completeness or safety of use of this data. Anyone posting unsafe or incorrect data is subject to removal from the GBO site indefinitely.

Now...Take a guess how it's determined if the load data is unsafe or incorrect? Take a guess what and who's data is used....It certainly isn't anyone personal reloads ..

Coyote Hunter has always given sensible data to anyone who has needed...and he has every right to challenge anyone who post data or make wild claims about it...just as every body else here has that right...

Again...Nonya....if you want to get his data and use it for your personal usage...fine...go for it...since your a big boy...and are responsible only to yourself...But..unsubstantiated velocity claims that are posted here at GBO's...will be challenged...especially when they are over charges that could cause serious problems for those reading it and then using it...Wither you agree with this...or not...

Before this thread gets anymore out of hand than it already has..it's time to cease all hostilities from all parties on it...so...I'm locking it down..
