Tracker I for Turkey
« on: March 22, 2007, 02:00:42 PM »
I dropped off my T1 20ga at the gunsmith's on Tuesday.  He going to ream and tap it for me and install a X-full choke tube.  Now I will have a sighted barrel for turkey hunting.  The added benefit of the choke tubes will allow me to find out what choke my slugs like best for deer hunting.  Many here have said they prefer shooting slugs throught a mod or imp choke.  $75 and that includes the choke tube.  Anyone looking for a 20 full choke barrel, check out my classified.

I am looking forward to hearing how it turns out for you. It should be a very fun barrel and more versitile than it ever was.
When it does, ya got to give up some pics too ;D

Good deal Cookieman! I would like to see pictures too. Would also like to see a range report when you pattern her with your Turkey loads.

Good Luck and I'm planning on patterning the #4's tomorrow and will post my results.

PS: Cookieman, just thought about it and I have a 20 Gauge Colonial Arms inc. improved cylinder choke tube you can have. I got it about two years ago from a gunshop and it will not fit my TDC or new shorty. The label says .675 x 44 double lead thread. You may want to ask your gunsmith if it will fit your Track I.

Markus, PM sent.

Froghunter, the brand of choke my smith uses is Tru-choke.  I did a search yesterday and I could swear that one of the brands listed as compatable is the colonial.  I will have to pull that search up again and see if I can find it.

Once everything is done I will get a pic or 2 posted and also range results.
