Does anyone shoot these in their Buckmark?  Anyone with experiences or recommendations about this?

I have but it's been a while.  If I recall correctly they had a tendency to cycle the slide about halfway so the cartridge mouth ended up jammed against the chamber face.  Guess it is time to get another box since I can't really remember.

I was thinking that might be a problem.  I really don't have a need for any, as I live in town and snakes are not a problem.  This was more a curious question.  Thanks for responding.

I use them in my H&R 999 for snake control.Have used them in ruger mkii, but its  single shot only as you have to eject each one by pulling back on slide and load each one into chamber by hand.

Do they feed in a semi auto, from the magazine? Shot cups are awful soft and flimsy.  I think Winchesters with the crimped end would work better if they'll eject?

Older post, I know...but I'd like to add...

While I haven't used these in handguns, I've used the CCI shotshells in my rilfes. They will occasionally cycle my semi-autos...but they ALWAYS feed from the magazines (rather bolt or semi-auto).

However, with a rifles barrel you can't expect a good pattern. Pretty much useless beyond about 10 feet from my experiences. A smooth bore will triple the effectiveness...you can shoot trap with Ritz crackers- LOL

I've got a Buckmark, and several kinds of 22 shotshells, but they will never meet!  As accurate as my gun is, I'm not going to take a chance on gumming up the barrel with that snakeshot.  I don't think it would do any permanent damage, but why do it if they won't even cycle the action.  If I need to perforate a snake, I'll take the ten hollowpoints in the gun over #12 shot anytime!  Now if I have snake loads for a 44, that's a whole different story!

I used to use em' in my Harrington and Richardson revolver, if I was you, I would get a revolver like the Ruger single action, that way you will have six shots to deal with the snake, instead of fumbling around with a jambed semi-auto while ol' fangs takes a bit out of you.

I have used the crimped type in all of mine.  They feed from the mag, are cheaper and pattern better than the capsule.  In all three of my bucks they do not cycle the action and have to be manually reloaded.
I was using them on Rats running from the dog food bin.  They were trying to chew through it.  The bolt action rifle worked better.  The rats would run on a concrete walkway to try to get away and I did not want to deal with the possibility of a ricochet.
