Makers of rim fire hand guns ?????????
« on: April 19, 2007, 12:31:18 PM »
Hello,Besides S and W,Ruger and Taurus who makes a revolver in 22 LR or 22 mag.I have a couple of semi auto pistols but would like to have a revolver also.I enjoy plinking on the weekends and I want to buy something just for this purpose.
Are there any other companies still in business that makes a good quality revolver.
If not where is the best source for finding a used K-22 S&W or a Colt Diamond Back?

Has anyone fired the Taurus Tracker? If so what were your thoughts about the quality.

CannonKrazy,

Lets see there are several others. Who still makes them I don't know but some other brands that are out there are Colt, Iver Johnson, Heritage Arms, NAA (if you can really call that a revolver), H&R, F.I.E, and Hi-standard. I am sure this isn't all of them but just a few that I am aware of. Not all are convertible though. I know the Heritage Rough Rider is and the F.I.E is but I don't know about the others.

I have a Taurus Tracker in 22mag and thus far no  major complaints I've had it about 3 years now. Only slight complaint I had is that the trigger was quite stiff and rough but after a couple hundred round it smoothed out.

With Heritage on the cheap end, S&W on the top end and Ruger and Taurus in between, I don't see much need for other options.

I just bought a new Heritage Rough Rider yesterday, and love it so far. I put around 2-300 rnds through it
and had several misfires with some older Federal Ammo I had with me. CCI Mini-Mags functioned perfectly.
Pretty accurate for a fixed sight revolver....I was able to hit a cigarette pack consistently from 10-12 yards.
I'll give it 5 out of 5 stars....
