Sig "Black Stainless"
« on: August 04, 2003, 11:15:13 PM »
I'm purchasing a few Sig handguns that were advertised as "Stainless". The pistols do indeed say stainless on the slides, but they are totally black finished. What's up with this? Are they stainless and finished with some type of matte coating. Thanks......

Yes, the slide is made of stainless steel then given a nitron finish to black it out. There is a pretty, shiny slide under all of those if you want it. I like a blacked out gun, but I do not like the Nitron finish. The ilaflon they used on the sigpro seems to be better.
