In my experience, it hit or miss. I put a bag of the powder out about a month before modern gun season because it said it would last a month and then I planned to "refresh" it with another bag right before season. I went back a week after putting out the first bag and it looked like they had been rolling in it. It was stomped to pieces and dug out all in the middle. However, once the rut started, their trails changed and they didn't touch the second bag, even though it was only about 20 yds from a well defined trail. I guess it has to be really accessible?? I may try it again next year, now that I know where the rut trails are.
