400 Corbon
« on: February 25, 2007, 09:01:02 AM »
Does anybody here have experience with the 400 Corbon?  On paper it appears to be an improvement over the 357 mag and 45 ACP.  Is there any history of its stopping power?

I don't know about stopping power.  The 400 Corbon is not a police issue cartridge and I don't think there is much in the way of information about its abilities in that regard.  The corbon people hype the hay out of it but ?????.  On paper it appears to be incredible but in order to get the velocities they wanted they had to sacrifice bullet weight.

I'll take the 357 over the 400.  At least I can load 200 gn swc slugs into the 357.  And I'll take the 45 over the 400 because I can load a 230 gn fmj-swc into that case.  If I want a 10mm it will be to shoot heavy slugs and the only 10mm that does that well is the 10mm and it handles 180 and 200 gn slugs.  Mikey.
