Scope mount -

Wondering if it is possible to utilize a two pice turn in syle scope moun on a Handi barrel? Would I need to have the barrel drlled and tapped?

Yep. Several years ago I took a T/C base for Leupold rings, lapped it to the Handi barrel top, had two additional holes drilled and tapped. Worked great.

No pictures. This was back in the '80s, before everyone had a digital camera. And no one used film back then like we use digital now. It was on one of my SB-2 45-70s. I was afraid that the three mounting screws would not stand up to the recoil, but it did just fine.
I just put some emery paper over the barrel and worked the base on it to open it up. (Was a lot more work then I had planned on. Once was enough!). Since the ring position is fixed on the Contender base, it did not give a lot of options on scope placement. But, it was unique!
