Question: Warne Base on MGM Barrel
« on: January 25, 2007, 07:11:38 AM »
I have a Warne 1 piece Maxima base that I mounted on my new MGM 24 inch .50 cal ML barrel.
The barrel taper starts around two thirds the length of the Maxima base leaving a small gap under the base.  The 4 mounting screw area is tight and flush to the barrel for around 2/3rds the length and the gap on the end of the base is around 1/64" or so.  I hope I've made this clear enough.

My question:  Is this something I should be concerned about?  Is there a shim available or should I just leave it be?  Opinions appreciated.  Thanks

Sandy, this is normal on the Encore style barrel with the factory taper... the four hole mounting Warne base will be here when the Lord comes back... just shoot on my friend... ;D
