Value of a "as new" NEF .223 Heavy barrel with 3-12 Tasco?
« on: February 17, 2007, 07:20:28 PM »
Can someone tell me what the going rate for a SB2 handirifle .223 Heavy Barrel with wood stock and Tasco 3-12x32 scope would be. The gun has only been fired 10 times and has been sitting in a safe. I was thinking $250 would be a good deal?
Thanks

Call your dealer and find out what the gun's selling for now.

To me, it'd be worth only half as much WITH that Tasco as without.

Just MO of Tasco's though.

Good luck,

i personley wouldnt give 250 for a used H&R when i can get a brand new 1 for  230 but its your money and if u think its a good deal go for it they are good shooting rifles u get it u will like it, and 10 rounds is not much ammo  so it is almost like new unless it is  all scrached up

gunner

A new BB handi will go for about $230 or so and a new tasco 3x12 will be about $75 add another $20 for rings and you are in the $325 price range for all new . offer $225 and see what he says if this is a FTF deal that would not be bad , if shipping is involved then $200 would be my max , for whats its worth .

I was thinking between $200 and $225 with the $225 a distinct possibility. If he holds out a bit or gets the right buyer $250 is possible. I am sure there is someone that would pay that for it and be happy. I myself would also get rid of the tasco right away and would rather buy the gun without it, that way I would not have to be concerned with getting rid of it....<><.... :)

I just purchased a 2002 .223 24" UltraBB/cinnamon laminate stock set for $205 shipped. The ffl fees are going to increase the price, but I couldn't get this rifle new as the outlets I checked had no availability.

Gander had a handi on the rack new for $229 with pallet wood and it appeared to be a 1st gen extractor.

I just bought a stainless .223 handi with synthetic stock in December. I got it for 250, stainless raises the price a little, but they do not offer BB in the stainless as of right now.  As for the tasco, I have no Idea.  I went with a burris fullfield II wich comes out to gun for $250 and scope $350.....oops.  I may be a fool by some peoples standards,  but I think you get what you pay for with optics.  I think the costs for shipping, would add more or less to my offer than the scope.  It would make a great starter rifle though.  I would go 200 to 220 and see if there is a counter.  If you own the gun now like Dale has mentioned I would expect to get offers around 200 range.

Where are you guys buying these BB rifles for $220 -$230?  In my area I see standard barreled, standard wood stock handis going for around $279-$289 plus tax.   I just purchased a 35 whelen handi on-line for $229, but add $20 shipping and $20 for my FFL guy and that's still $269 for a standard.  Please fill me in, I am missing something somewhere!!!

It depends on what part of the country your in , here in NW Ohio they go for 209 to 229 everyday , granted these are the palletwood stocks but bull barrels in the 223 , the rest are in standard taper barrels but the same price .

What part of the country are you in ? my last handi was a 22-250 for 209 + tax .

I'm in west central Florida.  Recently bought a 500 S&W locally.  I cost me $269 + tax.  I t seems no matter who I call, they are near the same price.  I have not even seen prices like you guys are quoting on the internet.  My 35 Whelen was $229, but the shipping and FFL fee brought it right up to what I pay locally.

krod

prices here in the heartland seem to be lower than the rest of the country , as far as internet prices , they tend to run about 20 to 30 higher than what i can get them locally for .

Here is the last one i got / with out scope and rings . but did have the lam. stocks

At price you pay compared to what I pay, you can buy 3 and getting the 4th one free.

There's always Walmart if you can find one of them that still sells firearms. Local prices on em at BiMart are about $10-$20 more depending on syn or wood.
