BC sights

I have been shooting my new BC the last couple days. I cant get my rear sight any higher to shoot long range 200yrds is about as far as I can shoot the sight can't adjust any higher, what can I do to get them so I can shot out to 400-500yrds Right now I'm loading 29gr of H-4198 w/405gr cast fn I know I can load it up hotter to get some more range but this feels like a good load I havn't shot any groups with it yet, but I'm hitting about the same place out in the feild each shot.

you probably have a high front sight
for some reason h&r put the tallest ones on their bc
you can order a shorter height from brownells or buffalo arms i think and that will get you more range
you can always do what i did and put a tang sight on it or like i also have on mine a smith long range ladder sight
also availible from brownells and buffalo arms

As sureshot said, you need a lower front sight, they use either the .584" or .494" 17A front sight, you can get a .404" tall front sight from Buffalo Arms for $28. You might also consider the Lee Shaver special front sight inserts for it too, much nicer than the Lyman set. The Smith ladder sight is real nice too, good for 800yd+, but you'll want to order the optional peep slider from Track of the Wolf or Smith for it.
