Stainless Encore with Walnut Stock
« on: February 25, 2007, 07:32:19 AM »
I was wondering if anyone has this setup.  I am thinking of getting a walnut stock for my Encore and wanted to know what it would look like.  Any pictures would be great! ;D

Don't have it, but I saw one once.  It was a Muzzleloader on gunbroker, and looked really good.

My next G2 carbine will be SS/walnut.  Just can't decide on which calber   ::).  I'd go with a .338JDJ, but my cheap side says get a 45-70 instead.

I took my flex tech stock off my Pro-hunter M/L and put a walnut thumbhole stock on it. It looks great.  My buddy also has his stainless with a walnut stock. They look real good. I don't have any pic's though.

I like the looks of them even though I do not have a pure walnut and stainless.  I do however have two that are walnut with a stainless frame and a blue barrel.  I am old fashioned, so I think that anything looks good with walnut as opposed to that new fangled plastic stuff.

Don't know why T/C doesn't offer the Encore this way.  I think it is the best looking combination by far!  You'll have to piece your gun together if this is what you want.

I bought mine that way and I know another guy that has one exactly like mine that was bought that way . I was told that T/C does make a few of them this way but they don't catalog them . Might want to give T/C a call and ask them .
I sure do like the looks of Stainless and walnut together !

My buddy bought one Stainless with walnut stock & forearm.  So they do sell them like that.

What a bummer.  Wish I would have known before I gave up searching for one.  Seems like I looked everywhere, then looked again.  Looked several years actually.  Of course this was before I knew about GBO.  This site is priceless.  I think a lot of the opinions and experiences you read about on here are better than what you would get out of a magazine on the same subject.  Sorry to get sidetracked...do you guys remember where these stainless walnut guns were purchased?  I'm assuming they were new also.  What caliber were they?  I would have to guess that there are many more that think the ss/walnut guns are really sharp also.

AiredaleTerrier, most of them are sold in 50 cal Muzzleloader's. I have seen a lot of them here in Delaware. Also you can ask the dealer to order one in the configuration you want. My buddy's Encore stock looks like something on a show gun. He was there to pick up a synthetic stock Encore and I told him to look at the walnut stock on the one he ended up getting.  I think it is the nicest stock I have seen on an Encore.
