TLA #5 magazine article
« on: February 10, 2007, 02:18:37 PM »
While I was looking through a stack of old gun magazines I stumbled on the magazine that sparked my interest  in Texas Longhorn Arms.  There on the front cover is the most beautiful .45 colt TLA #5 case colored gun w/ ivory grips.  I remember keeping this magazine just for the couple of pictures of this gun.  Soon after buying the magazine I wanted a TLA #5.  Great article on these guns as well.  (Phil Johnston wrote the article)  Lots of info on the barrels used, type of steel in the receiver, loads etc. Worth a look anyway.

The magazine is:   Gun World,  February 1997

I'd like to have that issue but a search didn't turn up too much. What would you charge to send a copy of that article?

Thanks Krems but poules'deau has a copy on the way. Can't wait to see it. Come to think of it, it may be here already.

By the way, tonight I got out my Clements #5 and my TLA #5 and compared the grip frames and there's not as much difference as I thought. Mostly the TLA is shorter by about .15" so I ordered another gf for a gun that's getting a locking base pin latch as we speak.
