Marlin trigger pull fix
« on: February 26, 2007, 03:46:20 PM »
Lately, I've been playing with a new 1894 CB .44 mag.  Out of the box the trigger was crisp but too heavy at 5 1/2 lbs.  After disassembly, cleaning, and a dab of Tetra Gun Grease it went down to
4 1/2 lbs.  Still too heavy for me.  Then I installed the hammer spring from a Brownell's Cowboy Action Spring Kit.  Now it's a beautiful 3 1/2 lbs.  If it still fires the primers I've found a quick and easy fix that I'd highly recommend.  Next will be the lever latch spring replacement as soon as I can find a punch that small.
