Free floating barrels...

Hey guys, just wondering what methods you use to free-float your barrels on your Encore rifles. The hanger bar route is a little pricey for me at this point, so let's leave that one for another time. All others are fair game, let me hear the voices of experience...

2 thin washers between the barrel and forearm. Works for me.  ;D

I have never had to yet. If I am not getting the groups I want before I change my load I will do as Redhawk posted and add two washers and make sure the forearm is not rubbing the frame on either side of the hinge pin. I do have a ML forearm that I need to watch for that. The holes are oversized just enough the forearm can get missalinged if removed for cleaning and not placed back on with caution.

I agree with what Redhawk said - 2 thin washers will do the job.

Yes 2 thin SS Washers, or take pump gasket material and glue into stock, both have seemed to work.

I got a hold of two copper washers (actually one side to a rivet...) and formed them into the forend and glued them in.  Total free-float, should help.  Now just waiting on a couple other products from an unmentionable vendor on this site and my .220 Russian brass to fireform, then it's off to load development!

I assume you place the washers on the forearm between the screw-holes as the screws are not long enough???  Is this correct?
