Thanks Tux

If you're talking about the one on the bottom of the fore end, it secures the sliding sling/bipod mount. If not using a bipod, you can remove the piece since for me at least the wingnut gets in the way of my hold.

??? Is the extra wingnut(for lack of a better term) used as way of floating the barrel ??

Thanks Tux

The wingnut secures the bipod adapter in the slot in the bottom of the Varmint forend. The adapter can be installed with the stud fore or aft.

So I still have to install the o-ring, or should I take it out and try shooting with first??

There was no gap on my .22-250 UVF, I sanded the forend out on it so it's floated past the stud.
