RMEF 35 whelen
« on: February 24, 2007, 12:50:14 PM »
Does anyone know anything about this gun? I was looking at my local gunshop and he has one for sale for 325.00 I'd rate in about 95%. I thought that was a bit much for it, but I don't know a lot about the NEF's. I would like one in this caliber just don't know if I wanna pay that much for one.

Welcome aboard! I gave $350 for mine unfired a couple yrs ago, I wouldn't hesitate to give $325 for an RMEF Whelen, great shooting rifles, I've shot 230gr Failsafes and 250gr Speer Spitzers into less than 1" at 100yds, working on 225gr TSXs now, 2900fps and 1½" so far, but I'm still wringing them out. Considering they don't offer it anymore even in the 22" version, the 26" RMEF is highly coveted!! ;)

gonzalo I know a guy that has one. I'm not sure if he wants to sell it or not but I'll talk to him about if you don't get that one.

Tanoose, it's not made any more, it's discontinued, so Sports South isn't going to get one in to send to Walmart and they have none in stock. :'(

Wow they didn't run the Whelen that long did they. I had no idea , does that mean they will not have the whelen available through the barrel accessery program for those who want it?

No accessory barrel either, but one poster called em and was told they might make another run in August, but that remains to be seen, I think.  :-\
