1911a1 problem
« on: January 19, 2007, 08:36:44 AM »
I'm in the process of building a 1911a1 pistol. The problem I have is that the hammer wont fall when I pull the trigger. It will fall if, while squeezing the trigger I cock the hammer just a little bit, then it will fall. I think I have a hammer/sear engagement problem. Any suggestions of what I should do would be greatly appreciated. ???

Does your trigger have an over travel adjustment stop?

Problem solved! The disconnector was sticking in the down position because it was hanging up against the sear spring. A little polishing on the disconnector and the sear spring and I'm back in business. ;D
