My father currently owns one of the Optima standard 209 ML and we both like shooting it. I'm now looking at the Optima Elite (like so many others around here

) I noticed the Optima Elite has a more rounded forend than his, is the pistol grip more rounded too? Do you think CVA will come out with a wood stock set for the Optima's?

CVA is working on a Laminated stock for them...and hopefully will be out sometime this year..I don't know how much more "rounded" the Elite is over the standard Optima..Mine has a pretty flat bottom on the fore arm and the pistol grip is rounded to fit your hand comfortable with a rounded grip cap on it..It's not flat across the bottom..nor is the stock..Perhaps yours is a bit wider ?

I think that's what I've noticed from the pictures. I haven't actually handle the Elite yet, but after I do I'll be making my decision on buying it. The regular Optima forearm is quite wide, but yet comfortable as well.

My MZ fore arm is 1.620" wide...if this is any help
