Knoxx SpecOps stock on Handi?
« on: February 28, 2007, 05:07:32 PM »
I would really like to put one of these recoil reducing stocks on a Handi, Huntsman, shotgun.  They are similar to an ATI but claim to reduce recoil by 95%.  Has anyone out there tried this?

I honestly know nothing aobut this company or product, but my first inclination would be that a stock that can make a 500s&w shoot like a 22 lr for $130 would be the hottest thing out there if it really worked that well.  I would think everyone would know the name.  Just my thoughts.

If you do get one, let us know how it is.

That stock costs more than a Pardner!! It's really a moot point since they don't offer one for an NEF H&R. ::)

I'd think twice about using a collapsable stock on a heavy kicker, one that isn't well made could be dangerous, even fatal!!

Sounds to me if the stock failed he would have a law suit.

After seeing those pics, I'd pass on those stocks.. :o No need to be eating a scope if you can help it...

Just my 2 cents...

That Mossberg was not using a Knoxx Stock, I think they use the ATI stocks on their tactical guns.  The Knoxx is well-known in the shotgun community, and I have never heard of one failing like the Mossberg did.  They are specifacally made for heavy recoiling shotguns.  You can read alot about them at shotgunworld.com or ar15.com in the Arm & Tactics section under shotgun.

The trick would be getting one to fit an NEF receiver.  An adapter from the reciever to the AR tube would be fairly easy for a machinist, but I don't know how you would address the grip being back too far from the trigger.

I have the knoxx stocks on my mossberg slug gun and they work incredibly well. Only one problem with using a scope is you really have to be consistent on the pressure you apply on your hold or you can open your groups. I switched to a dot sight and it really became wonderful.

Lokking at that pic it seems he was riding up the stock=not enough eye relief. It is spring loaded and does move. Truth be told it was never meant to be used with a scope. red dot is great. I use a lot of eye relief on my optics choices. I learned from an incident with a light synthetic stocked single shot 45/70 Ouch. Bet you can guess the make of that rifle.:)
