Match Grade Machine offers some sort of brake on their custom blackpowder barrels . They call it a "Smoke Brake" . The barrels sure are expensive though .

"I am sure it has been done, but why???"

Ditto, i hate muzzle brakes in general unless it is on a fully automatic weapon.

Save your money to buy another gun! I don't see any reason in terms of recoil. ;D

I don't have a problem with recoil   , actualy I love recoil  sounds  Crazy but it works for me. Just wondering if it has been done.
To me a Muzzle loader has a push  not a snap'

The 20" -209x50 is factory ported. Mine has 6 holes, my 444 has 10 holes.
On a pistol frame the kick is a lot less than my 16" gonic 209 contender.   How much of the reduction is due to the heaver frame or to the porting, I can't tell.

I've got the 20" Katadin, I use 335g bullets @1250fps. I notice that there is still the reward recoil, but, muzzle rise is nearly non existant.
