45-70 Dimensions
« on: March 02, 2007, 02:50:05 AM »
I just sent my frame in for a 22" 45-70 barrel.

What is the range of bore dimensions on these barrels?

Sure hope mine runs the same.

Are the chambers cut pretty much to spec?

Worse case scenario is the bore won't be as tight at the muzzle as it is near the chamber, so be sure to slug it with a number 8 egg sinker at both ends, push the slug out the near end, a couple barrels have been reported to be like this, but most are great and shoot great. I have 4, they're all very accurate. You can also push a slug all the way thru to check for tight spots.

Anyone know what turn around is looking like? I ordered a 30-30 barrel, a 45-70 barrel, and asked for a trigger job.
