value of rifle
« on: August 04, 2008, 05:39:22 PM »
Hi all, I am wondering how much an H&R 158 topper in 22 hornet is worth and if you all have any information on these rifle. how accurate are they and any other help you could give. I am thinking about checking into one but not sure if it is a good price or not.

They go for $100-$150 depending on the condition, an unfired 30-30 was sold in the classifieds a couple years ago for $225. They're good shooters but H&R won't fit them with barrels, the cast iron frames are only for low pressure chamberings and shotgun barrels.

Just so there's no misunderstanding, H&R won't fit any barrel to that frame, they require frames made 1987 and later.
