Uburti Rifles
« on: March 08, 2007, 01:50:21 PM »
I found out you could use a breach loader with hammer and a a blACK POWDER CARTRIDGE during the primitative season in Ms. I'm really drooling over the lever guns BUT I don't think they are legal.  So I was looking at the Springfield carbine (a lot less money) in 45-70. Are these good rifles and accurate enough for shooting to 150 yds ? I also saw a Sharps sporting rifle that wasn't too bad. What do you know about them ? Are the sights subitable for hunting ?   When I was a Kid my great grampaw gave me his original Springfield saddle carbine, as a dumb ass kid I sold it ! for nothing 25.00 This was in the early 50's.

I still have my '73 carbine that I got in 1953. Works just fine. I settled on the .45-55-405 round as that is what it was designed for. Sight it for 100 yards and it will hit just a tad low at 150.
