Single Six Question
« on: March 31, 2007, 01:45:18 PM »
Did Ruger market a Single Six in 22Mag only, or did they all come as convertibles?  I saw a used one today for $235.  Is that a good price?  It looked nearly new.

Yes there were some that were .22 mag only.  price depends on condition of course as well as the configuration on these i believe.

Is there a way to tell if you are getting a 22Mag only or getting a convertible with only the 22Mag Cylinder.  This has been hashed around a lot on here and I wouldn't want to buy a convertible with only 1 of the 2 cylinders as it could be the one that doesn't shoot so well.

As I understand it if it is the performance of the 22 mag you are concerned about it probably isn't a big issue if it is a just a magnum or a 22 lr/mag convertible as both should have the same size bore. The performance issue comes when you want to maximize the performance of the 22 lr. Then a convertible is not as desirable cause you are shooting it out of a bore sized for the mag cartridge.
Just another worthless opinion!!
