The regualar Ruger base should work just fine. A few other companies make bases that'll work just as well too.  Just check at MidwayUSA.com

I bought a MK II Comp in Jan. I have now put on an inexpensive red dot scope using the Weaver base I got from Brownell's. It has more cross cuts for positioning than the Ruger/Weaver base.

BlkHawk73 I cant use the factory base becasue it is made to fit the specieal type ruger rings that came with the pistol and it isnt a weaver mount i need a weaver style mount not the factory mount that take the ruger rings >:( this BSA redot came with a built in scope mount so its not like i can just change the scope rings. Tom C how much was this weaver base and could u give me the info on where to find it thanks John

I have an older slabside.  It came with a smalll scope mount supplied by Ruger.  Some time ago Ruger also offered a weaver style base with a few slots (3 or4?).  This base fits the factory drilled and tapped holes.   I bought one of these from Ruger parts and accessories dept.  I think Ruger now includes this base with some of their .22 auto pistols.  With the limited number of slots, I had some trouble getting the red dot I had to fit, not enough spacing options to fit the built in weaver on the red dot.  I suggest getting an after market base with as many slots as posible.
