Some 45 years ago my family obtained several US military surplus gun racks or carriers that we bolted into jeeps, pickups, snowmobiles and tractors. I do not know exactly where we obtained them or what they were called. They seemed to be made for M1 Garands but we used them for any unscoped long gun. They had no room for a scope. Each held one gun. They were brown or O.D. color. They were metal and shaped generally like a canoe. The butt was placed in it first and pushed against a spring. When entirely pushed into the rack there was a lever to move and hold the barrel end in the rack or carrier. The spring on the butt end provided enough tension to hold the gun very securely. Does anyone know where these can be purchased today? Thanks.
