Ejecting cases from a model 15

I have a Dan Wesson .357.  I believe it is a model 15.  When the cylinder is unlatched and swings out, sometimes there is not enough clearance to eject the cases...depending on how the cylinder it rotated.   The cylinder has to be turned to just the right position for the cases to have enough clearance of the recoil shield to be ejected.  Is this the way all model 15's are built or am I the lucky one?

My guess is, without seeing a photo of the frame & cylinder, that there is some grit, dirt or some foreign substance inside the crane area, which is preventing the cylinder/yoke/crane assy from swinging out and down completely. If that is the case, you'd need to remove the crane from the frame to clean out the area. However, you might first want to just try flushing the area (before any disassembly) with a solvent or spray lubricant....then working the cylinder/crane assy in and out of the frame repeatedly.

I'm on the road for the next couple of weeks.  I'll post photos when i get back  However everything is clean.  The crane comes out as far as it can and is stopped by the frame.  Looks like it was manufactured that way.  Why, I don't know.
