heck Tom- 4-5 gophers equals average on a beaver.
So if I get 75 gophers a day, that 16-17 beaver that I DON'T have to skin or get wet for....
plus it hurts a lot less getting a finger in a #1......
Seriously, I hear its going to be hard getting a $15 average on spring beaver this year.

I am planning to as soon as they start moving out of the water. I have sold 9 beaver in the round for $5 - $20 each here in ND.
I hope to trap and hunt them as soon as they are moving. If it stays warm that will be very soon.

Yeppers, spring time, ice out and bvr moving! No more chopping thru 18 inches of ice! Cant trap snappers here in WI till June. WE wait till they are done laying thier eggs. Of course then the skunks , fox, coon start digging them up...LOL.

Ill bet you guys are ready for ice out and and the spring time things. There is a longer season for beaver down here that runs till the end of March. I have to really get things going on that again by next season so to at least be able to take care of what complaint problems and permissions I have or will have in the several counties I put in on the trappers list for that Im already working in as well as others. I seriously considered going with the other fur but beaver are so easy to find here.
I catch snappers sometimes myself. Ive seen some in the lake while frog hunting that looked like monsters. Some of them were big as washtubs and had necks as big around as a muskrats body. I used to lose several 3-5 lb blue cats on one location at a time. Just heads hanging on the line over deep water. I like to fish too. Yellow perch are a favorite of mine. The ones here only get to 13 in or so. My dad is a walleye guide. He and my mother catch some real woppers. I will trout fish where it is legal all year long and dont care if its cold if im on some big uns or just want to go. Bout time for catfish again too. lol I love catfish

Started trapping beaver yesterday.Ice is going off quick as we had a warm day and light rain. Will be working a huge dam near a subdivision...flooding peoples backyards. Disappointed to here those low spring beaver prices?

I dont think I am going to do much.
Maybe get 50.
I am going to fish this year. Maybe trap beaver 3 days.
I'm afraid it will be like last year and spring will be slow coming and boom go and it will be over.
