« on: June 30, 2007, 05:58:00 PM »
Anybody out there ever use any Sellier & Bellot 6.5x52R ammo in there 25-35 rifle?  Or know of anyone that has?  How did it perform? Supposed to be the same cartridge.

Hi,
Yes it is the same cartridge, if you post this on the Drilling and combination forum you should get a reply as there are pics of a 16 gauge 6.5x52r combo posted.

I've seen this mentioned before. My question is, isn't this the old Dutch military round? I've seen it referred to as both the 6.5X52 and/or 6.5X53mm ( depending on if the rim is included in measurement. Can anyone help me clear it up? Thanks, Mark.

You have found one of the places where the metric system breaks down.  Another one is with the 30-30, which is the 7.62x51R in the metric system.  It would lead you to think it is the .308 with a rim. Anyway, I am glad to know that there is a source of ammo for a 25-35, since I have always wanted one.

Buy the 6.5 and shoot it for the brass if nothing else.  It's reasonable and it shoots great in my Contender carbine and is very accurate.  I am proud of myself for seeking out the .25-35 barrel and buying it!  It is a pleasure to shoot.  Enjoy.
