I shoot 2oz balls out of my bronze howitzer. I found it much less hassle to buy them at wal-mart at $1.37 per bag of 4. It only takes a few seconds to remove the loop and file smooth.
I may not be completely sane, but at least I don't think I have the power to influence the weather.

Two things to keep in mind using lead sinkers and sinker molds.

Be sure you use your tube gauge as these balls are likely to be out of round.

And significantly reduce your loads when using lead especially inthe larger sizes...

The Do-it brand molds work really well. I have several of them and the balls are very close to round. You will have to take off a little piece of lead flashing where the tie wire would be inserted, but other than that they work well.

In fact, I'm about to go cast some .96 inchers right now  :)

If I were to cast for anything over 1 inch I'd probally go with zinc. As of now The biggest I have is only 1 inch. (FOR NOW ;D)
