Rossi Model 711

I found a Rossi Model 711, 4inch barrel, stainless steel,  with a non-fluted cylinder, combat grips and adjustable sights 357 magnum for $225.00. It seems to be in great condition from just handling it. However I cannot seem to find any information on this revolver. I do know this particular model was imported by Interarms as it is stamped on the revolver. I am wondering if this would be a good handgun as I do not know much about the older Rossi firearms. Any information on the quality or anything else that can be thought of will be greatly appreciated. I figure if this is a good handgun and the gentleman that has it does sell it in the next 3 weeks then I might just buy it.

Sounds like a pretty good deal.  I'm not familiar with that particular model but Rossi revolvers are generally pretty decent especially the newer ones.

Here are some tips for examining any used revolver you are thinking about buying.   Wiggle the cylinder back and forth and rotationally while it is closed to check it for excessive movement that would indicate a stretched frame or worn parts.  Open the cylinder and look at the forcing cone if there looks like there is a lot of lead or scorching toward one side of the cone or the other the timing could be off.  Check all of the screw heads and the area around the screws and the side plate.  If any of the screw heads are buggered up or there are tool marks around them or the side plate seam it could be a sign of some shoddy home gunsmithing.  And offcource it is always a good idea if you could shoot some live ammo to test it for function and get an idea of it's accuracy potential.

Thanks for the information. The cylinder had very little shake and and forcing cone looked really good for a used gun. the gentleman that has it for sell has a money back guarantee on all his firearms. I think when I get back from work and if he still has it for sell then I will buy it from him.
