Semi wadcutters have a tendency to hang up on the edge of the chamber.  The round nose flat points work well.  Sorry, I don't remember the mould number offhand.

thanks for your reply. I see what you mean with the wad cutters as I load up some serria 110g blizs with have a impressive flat hollow point , didn,t cycle to good.
but have a lee round nose hollow point on the way to try.
do you have any loads I could try with a 158gr cast plus maybe 2400 power?
thanks

just a update on my loadings. mainly only shoot rabbits with my 357. the lee cast seem to work well now, But are only doing 1100 fps to keep them accurate.
I now also have the serria blitz 110 gr cycling well , and man do these thing blow up a rabbit ,almost inhalf. As the 110gr blitzs are only ment for pistol velocity. out of a 16in barrel there doing 1900 fps.
Does any one know of any other vermint loads or projectiles that work well in a 357 rifle.
thanks

I have one of those Navy arms/Rossi round barrel 357 carbines. With a max published load of WW296 and bulk Remongton 125 grain jacketed soft points it will touch bullets at 100 yards off the bench. The published velocity is at 1950 fps.

I also shoot Remington HJHP 125's in my 92.  I load them to 2000 fps with either AA#9 or H110 powder.  My old three screw Ruger Blackhawk .357 on the other hand prefers 160 grain HJSP with a close to published max load of H110 powder.

The Hornady 125 XTP feeds flawlessly through mine.

Man  just had a break through with my bullet casting accuracy. All I  had was a 358 sizing die . With this none of my cast bullets would group at 25yards (about 3 inchs)
So since then I brought a 359 sizing die as I drove a pure lead slug down the bore of my rossi to determine the size.
Now she will shoot just about into the same hole at 25. Cant believe the difference going up one size makes.
Cant help it but will have to fine some different molds now to try. Any ideas? What does your rossi like.
