Iron sights on Handi .22 Hornet
« on: May 02, 2007, 11:26:45 AM »
Are the sights on the .22 Hornet Handi Rifle any good?  Surely someone must use them.  Didn't Gun Tests do their comparison with the Encore using iron sights?

The open sights that come with the 22 Hornet are fine for short range, I was shooting mine yesterday and breaking clay pigeons offhand at 50yds. If you're going to shoot at longer ranges I'd consider a receiver sight or a scope. The standard open sights cover too much of the target for me to be very confident much over 50.
