stainless?

hello all,

I have been lusting after a stainless contender for a bit and of course it is hard to find them in the right price range when I have the money so my question is this,  is the stainless steel really more durable and weather proof than the blued versions?

I wouldn't sat more durable but I would definitely say more weather proof. Don't be fooled though, stainless used in guns will rust. Just not as quickly or as bady as stainless. You still need to keep them oiled.   KN

Most of the guns that I buy new these days are stainless.  It always seems that when I can hunt it rains or snows.  By the time I get home some of the blued guns are already starting to show rust.

KN is quite right:  stainless guns still have to be cared for.  But you get a little more time before they start to rust. 

I just got my first stainless Contender, a new G2.  It is a beauty, and matches my stainless barrels.  The rubber grips on the stainless G2s work well also.

same with me, most of my hunting guns are satinless. When the sleet is coming at me sideways thrugh the trees, I feel a little better knowing my gun is stainless. It still gets dried and sprayed down with wd-40 when I get in from the field. I really do like the looks of a blued gun though, very classy.

I have one of each, and you DO need to take care of them.  I like the looks of the stainless better than blued.  Good luck on finding one.
