CCL class

Well 22 of us Okies took the carry concealed class today. We should have our license in less than 90 days. Charlie

Down here in Alabama we don't have to worry about a class thank goodness. Just go to the local sheriff's office and fill out the paper work and background check. Within two weeks ya get a call to stop by and get your license. Cost me ten bucks in my county but more in others. Don't think anybody charges more than 25 though.
Use to we had a two day waiting period but they decided that didn't work so it's gone. No restrictions on how many ya can buy a month either. ;D

I think I'll move to Alabama. In MO you have to take an 8 hour class that costs $100 to $150 and the license can cost up to $100 with a $50 renewal fee in 3 years.

Alaska has a concealed carry permit which requires a class but the permit itself is not required.  And the total fees must be something on the order of $200 for class and application.  However the permit is only required for reciprocity with other states and for avoiding the background check when purchasing firearms from an FFL.  The permit is not required to carry concealed.  Anyone who can legally carry or use a firearm can carry concealed in Alaska.

Here in Wy. we don't have to take a class but it's almost $100 with a renewal of 50 every 4 years. Just go to the Sherrifs office, fill out the paper work and wait 60 days then go back and pick it up.

God bless the states that see the second amendment for what it is and allow CCL with "0" red tape. I am thankful at least that we can get a CCL in Oklahoma though. Charlie

In Oregon you pay the $50 for the class, Go the the county sherrifs department and pay them a bunch of money, they take your fingerprints and picture and you wait some amount of time just short of an eternity and it shows up in the mail.

Expensive, but very simple.

I have had my CHL since Texas offered it in 1995 and completed my 3rd renewel this past weekend.  My last 3 permits were for 4 years, but this one is for 5 years.  I used a new instructor this time and had a great experience.
