Most accurate 204 factory load
« on: March 15, 2007, 02:18:11 PM »
Hello fellas.  I am going to pick up my 204 ultra varmint-fluted tomorrow ( is $253 a good price) and was wondering what type of ammo and weight of bullet you guys have found to be most accurate in your guns.  BTW have read on this site for quite a while just never posted.  Lots of good info to be found.

Thanks.

I would think 253 would be a good price for a 204 i dont have a 204 so i cant help u there on bullet weight but i bought my H&R223 17 years ago for 234 and today i was in a gun shop where he wanted 280 to 340 for H&R 270 and a H&R 223 so i would think 253 would be a desant price

My 204 likes the lighter bullets best.  As far as factory stuff the best groups I got were with the Winchester 34 jhp's (around .5-.6 average).  It did pretty good with the hornady 32 gr v-max as well averaging around .7-.8.  Groups opened up some with the hornady 40 gr v-max (around MOA or slightly over).  Remington loads with 32 or 40 grain v-max/accutip were not as good as the hornadys both loads averaged around 1.5".
